Get Involved – Make a Difference!

Maryland For McCain

1) Participate in the conference call each Monday night to stay updated on the movement of the campaign; 

2) Recruit Volunteers - A major focus of Maryland For McCain

     -Send an email to your friends, family, colleagues, and social network introducing yourself as a member of the Maryland For McCain Steering  Committee.  Encourage them to contact you if they would like to get involved and/or direct them to the campaign websites:

      -Knock door-to-door in your neighborhood.  You may want to buy a McCain 2008 T-shirt or baseball hat online.  If someone is a McCain supporter ask them if they would like to:  a) be put on the campaign email list so they can receive regular emails from the campaign b) sign up to be a volunteer for Maryland For McCain, c) consider hosting a "house party" in the future, and if you are comfortable, d) ask them to  make a donation;

     -Generate ideas for volunteer recruitment;

 3)  Begin compiling a list of emails of McCain supporters.  Keep this list organized and use it for future fundraisers, promotions, and volunteer recruitment initiatives.

 4)  Email a note to Jim Shalleck, the Maryland For McCain Steering Committee Director, stating what it is you'd like to for the campaign and/or which areas you'd like to be involved in.  Consider what strengths and skills (both personal and professional) that you can attribute to the Campaign;  (jimshalleck@hotmail.com)

 5) Fundraising - compile invitation lists for upcoming fundraisers.  Contact information should primarily include email addresses & phone numbers;

 6) Generate ideas for the campaign - Do not hesitate to put forward your ideas to Jim Shalleck or David Hays.  Maryland For McCain will focus on Volunteer Recruitment, Grassroots Networking and Fundraising;

 7) Listen to the community around you - glean in on the observations you are making and share your thoughts with Jim Shalleck and David Hays;

 8)  Coalitions - use your connections with certain coalitions to promote and advance the goals of Maryland For McCain.

  

National Campaign Headquarters

 1)   Volunteering At Events - Call headquarters and put your name on a list to volunteer for upcoming eventsBill Bloomfield is the Director of Volunteers. His email is bbloomfield@mccain08hq.com.  The main number to headquarters is (703) 418-2008.

 2) Fundraising -

    - Host a fundraiser for John McCain.  Contact Morgan Macdonald at headquarters with questions or for information on hosting your own fundraiser.  You can reach Morgan at 703-650-5578, or by email at mmacdonald@mccain08hq.com;

    - Promote fundraisers and events - Help the campaign generate ticket sales to fundraisers by promoting and inviting your friends and core groups through email or personal phone calls.

     -Co-host a fundraiser by committing a certain financial amount through ticket sales of a given event, your name will appear on the invitation, which you can personally market to your core groups, friends, etc.

Join the 120 Club

Please join our “120 Club” today. The support of 120 Club members enables us to register more Republicans and support our candidates as they fight for lean and efficient government. The 120 Club financially supports an effective Calvert County Republican Central Committee headquarters operation and helps fund joint campaign activities on behalf of all of our nominated Republican candidates.

We will also help our Republican elected officials battle the Democrat monopoly in Annapolis that seeks to tax and regulate everything. If $1.8 billion in new taxes in just six months is too much for you to take, if you believe our government in Annapolis doesn't have a revenue problem but a spending problem, and you demand elected officials who put Maryland families and their values first, then please become a member of the 120 Club.

  • Appreciation plaque

The Preakness Day Reception is held locally to honor 120 Club members and features food, fun, a large screen TV for the race and great door prizes!

Couples can contribute to the 120 Club together or individually. The handsome membership badges will reflect the name(s) of your choosing and can be worn with pride to show your support for the Calvert County Republican Party.

Join a Republican Club

We encourage you to join one of our three excellent Republican Women’s Clubs and/or the Calvert County Republican Club for men and women.

The Republican Women of Calvert County (RWCC) usually meets in the daytime in the Prince Frederick area. Susan Allor is the current President of the RWCC and you can e-mail her at allors@comcast.net or call her at 410-586-9561.

REPUBLICAN WOMEN LEADERS OF CALVERT (RWLC): Formed in 2003 to provide greater opportunities for women with daytime jobs to influence the political process, the RWLC meets September through June at 6:30 p.m. on the 1st Monday of the month, with summer socials and an early fall wine tasting event. The Calvert County Republican Club (CCRC) welcomes men and women who are interested in getting together to build a stronger Republican Party.
